Jack Sorenson Interview

Tell us a little about yourself: A young man stricken down early in life with many illnesses. After 21 years of being laid up in a tiny room, I woke up one day to sit down and write 17 novels in a year and a half. And learned how to use a computer for the first time.

When did you decide to become a writer?
Two years ago.

What was your first published work?
The Child of the Shadows.

What is your dream as a writer?
One day to have many Novels published and have one become a movie.

What writing avenues are you currently pursuing?
A better use of language and Latin as I write in old English etymology middle English.

Is there anything you wish you had been told earlier in your career?
Spelling and the use of nouns and adverbs or treasured.

What advice can you offer writers just breaking into a serious writing career?
Use wise choices in the begining of your first chapters. Use good synopsis that is to the point in less than fifty words.

Anything else you want our readers to know?
Never give up your dream of writing.

  1. I recently suggested in a writers forum that members exhibited short story and novel first lines that they were proud of.

    I've always thought first lines were vital to hook reader interest and therefore I work quite hard on them.

    Although, it is a busy forum, the response was deafeningly silent.

    It seems that either a lot of writers do not share this view or don't have anything that they are proud enough to showcase.
