Book Review: The Storybook Knight by Helen Docherty

Disclosure: I was sent an e-ARC copy of this book from the publisher via Net Galley.

Title: The Storybook Knight

Author: Helen Docherty

About the book:

Even dragons can’t resist a good story…
Even though Leo would rather sit at home and read, his parents send him out into the world in the hopes that Leo will become a famous knight. But when Leo comes up against the land’s most fearsome beasts, he soon discovers that scary monsters enjoy a good book as much as anyone…
Helen and Thomas Docherty are the husband-and-wife author and illustrator team behind the award-winning children's picture book, The Snatchabook (Sourcebooks 2013). They live in Bristol, England, with their two daughters. For more information, visit, thomasdocherty.co.uk.

Not only did I love the story and illustrations, I also liked the message of the book. Encouraging children to read in a fun way, whilst also teaching them that violence isn't always the answer, and that conflicts can be overcome by talking instead. I highly recommend this book!
