What
genre do you write and why?
Mostly thriller, mystery, and
horror. I would say this genre is infused in my brain. The first toy I remember
was a Casper the Ghost doll. The first television show I saw was the Munsters.
A few years later, I moved on to The Outer Limits, and Chiller. You can see the
pattern. The saying goes, “Write what you want to read.” The horror I write is
always fiction. I prefer the made-up monsters as an escape from the real
monsters that exist in our world.
Tell us about your
latest book.
House of Redemption is a about a group of eight
people who have avoided paying the consequences of their crimes, be it criminal
or immoral, only to find they are trapped in this house. The only escape is to
repent their evil ways. The problem is no one is truly sorry.
Who
is you favourite character in your book and why?
I would say Dee
as she chose to stop seeing herself as a victim. She had the most growth. Not
necessarily a growth in the right direction.
Did you learn
anything from writing your book that was unexpected?
What surprised me from my
readers is that so many loved the character of Washington who has a minimal
part in the story.
Why
do you think readers are going to enjoy your book?
A lot of people have been
victims of someone who used or abused them, but because the culprit isn’t
arrested for lack of evidence or it isn’t considered a “real” crime, the only
recourse is to say Karma will pay them back. In House Of Redemption, they’ll
experience Karma kicking butt.
How was this book
published? (traditional, small press, self pub, etcc...) Why did you choose that particular publishing
route?
I chose to self-publish. House of Redemption
doesn’t follow the format of recapping every few pages. I can’t tell you how
many times I want to throw a book across a room because it keeps repeating what
I already know. I didn’t think a publisher would accept my non-compliance.
What is your work in progress? Tell us about it.
It’s a psychological
thriller about a single mom with a young daughter. She marries an artist who
has a twisted twin sister obsessed with him.
Who or what inspired
you to become a writer?
My friend Travis challenged me. I accepted
the challenge and surprised myself that I could do it.

currently reading?
I have just started Kind Nepenthe by Matthew V. Brockmeyer.
