PROMO DAY is an all day event for writers and people in the writing industry to promote their work, learn more about the industry, meet other writers, share tips and advice and much more. Publishers on the look out for new authors will also be attending the event so this might also be a chance to get your book in print

The first samples have now been posted to the website for viewing and more will be added through out the week. If you haven't sent me yours yet, it's not too late. Check the website for details and the format required. Samples can be from published or unpublished work (there will be publishers and agents attending the event on Saturday 23rd June who are on the look out for new authors). Please make it clear if the work has already been published.

It's also not too late to send me a file for the downloads section. Are you an expert in a particular aspect of the writing industry or want to share your tips for better writing? The files can be about anything related to writing and the industry. I'm still looking for the following topics but if you think of others that might be useful please send them too:

- staying motivated
- time management
- how to...
- alternative ways to write e.g. blogging etc...
- Interviews (as host or guest)
- Creating characters
- Getting published
- Self publishing

As some of you know, I've been in hospital and am now on bed rest due to problems with my pregnancy. Baby is fine and I hope to be back on my feet again soon. A big thanks to those of you that have emailed me and posted messages. It's much appreciated.

I'd also like to say a big thank you to those who have kept the chatroom at http://jolinsdell.tripod.com going for me. Any chat's that I've missed/ pending, I'm happy to reschedule for later in the year when things have settled down a bit.

I'm still not sure whether PROMO DAY! will go ahead as planned or not but should I have to cancel, the event will be rescheduled for later in the year, so please feel free to continue to send me your files and samples.
