How to S.E.O. your YouTube Videos

Creating video content is a fantastic way to promote your books and build your online brand and since YouTube is one of the largest and most used sites in the world setting up a channel is a must.

Although Google will automatically list any videos uploaded to YouTube in their search results if you want to get maximum visibility for your content you need to do some S.E.O. (Search Engine Optimisation).

A lot of writers aren't marketing experts and S.E.O. sounds like a foreign language.  This is why I've made this easy to follow infographic to outline some of the main steps you need to take to give your YouTube content a boost and help it show up in search results:

Do you have a YouTube channel? How are you using it to promote your writing? What other steps should be included?

  3. Hello, I have a question - If I have a list of related videos say good mystery books, and although they are SEO'd appropriately, will creating a youtube channel for those videos increase my rankings? Please reply. Thanks.

    1. YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world so posting your videos to the site will make a big difference. As YouTube is owned by Google they will also show up well in search engine results on the search giant too.

You can set up playlists to group videos into categories e.g. you could set up a playlist called "good mystery books" on your channel.

If your content is all based in the same niche you can set up a channel specific to that topic. If your content is more varied, use the playlist feature to break it down for your followers.

      I hope this helps.
